Kiev is truly one of the great cities of Europe. The officially accepted date of the "birth" of Kiev is 482. Kiev is the capital of the. The cradle of the ancient Kievan-Rus Civilization, modern Kiev has wide boulevards lined by majestic trees, beautiful parks with lovely flowering plants, and monumental buildings, reflecting the graceful elegance of different architectural styles and periods. It is situated on the picturesque banks of the Dnieper River.

Nowadays it is a large political, industrial, scientific and cultural centre of Ukraine. It's population equals nearly 3 million people.

Today, there is a lot to see, both old and new, in Kiev. Below are my photographs of Kiev.
